Welcome to Hualalai

Credited with creating the boom of Hawaiian luxury real estate in the late 1990’s, the Hualalai Resort is home to the award-winning Four Seasons Resort and Spa at the Historic Ka’Ūpūlehu. The Hawaii land division system of dividing property consisted of “ahupua’a” which were parcels of land running from sea (“makai”) to mountain (“mauka”), allowing families to fish and farm as they migrated daily between the two areas of their property. Each of these long, thin, sections of land were given the name of the family of ownership and when Hualalai was established, they elected to keep the family land name in the name of the resort – Ka’Ūpūlehu. Known for its anchialine brackish water ponds fed by underground springs and mixed with sea water, this delicate coastal sanctuary lines the 18th hole of the Hualalai Golf Course where the Mitsubishi Senior PGA Championship is played each January.

Real Estate Synopsis:

Hualalai offers condominiums starting in the low $1M’s up to some of the most coveted, priceless oceanfront residences in the world. Considerations here – there is a required membership to the Hualalai Club in order to access the amenities of the resort which carries a $250K Initiation Fee and annual dues on top of your HOA fees. Also, renting your home is currently permitted but with the caveat that during the peak seasons they assess a daily resort access fee of $250 per person – PER DAY. Many of the owners are hoping that rentals will be restricted through these imposed fees so that the amenities aren’t overwhelmed with guests from the hotel, owners and renters.

The Beach Tree – So many memories at this beachfront gem with an outstanding wine list where you can order even just a single glass from every bottle! How about a little Opus One with your poolside lunch??

The Owner’s Beach House – Super casual, used to be the best kept secret… now the word is out, but they’ve kept it small and fun.

Going to the Beach Tree Bar in 2001 to see the hot bartender who would become my husband!
